Requirements

FARM SITE
Minimum Land Area: 1 Hectare
Location must be:

  • Within an agricultural zone
  • At least 1 km away from the nearest residential area
  • At least 1 km away from the nearest poultry or hog farm and related operation
  • Within 100km radius from the nearest SMFI operated Poultry Processing Plant
  • Reliable source of electric power
  • Adequate source of potable water
  • All-weather road leading to and inside the farm, passable to light vehicle, 6 and 10 wheeler trucks.

Application Process

  1. Accomplishment of contract growing application form
  2. Site or farm inspection
  3. SMFI approval of proposed site or farm
  4. Submission of letter of intent
  5. Issuance of letter of commitment
  6. Submission of permits
  7. Construction of poultry house
  8. Contract signing
  9. Seminar on basic husbandry
  10. Chick placement


Obligations of Contracting Parties

San Miguel Foods, Inc. shall provide:

  1. Building plans, design and specifications
  2. Quality day-old chicks
  3. Broiler feeds and nutrition program
  4. Medicines and vaccines
  5. Technical assistance
  6. Laboratory services
  7. Information recording materials
  8. Ready market
  9. Competitive payment agreement


The contract grower shall provide:

  1. Agricultural land (1-2 hectares)
  2. Poultry houses and facilities
  3. Feeds warehouse
  4. Electricity and water system
  5. Labor and security
  6. Poultry equipment
  7. Maintenance of farm facilities, roads and equipment
  8. Proper farm management
