How well are you nourishing yourself? A simple wellness self-check

With busy schedules, family responsibilities, and countless food choices available every day, it can be easy to put nutrition and wellness on the back burner. We may know what a balanced lifestyle looks like, but putting it into practice is another story.

The good news? Healthy living does not have to mean making drastic changes. Sometimes, it starts with simply pausing and asking ourselves: How well am I taking care of my nutrition and overall well-being?

Check in with yourself

Use the checklist below as a quick self-assessment of your current nutrition and wellness habits. There are no right or wrong answers. The goal is simply to become more aware of the habits that may be supporting your well-being and the areas where you may want to improve.

What does your self-check tell you?

If you answered “Yes” to many of the statements, congratulations—you already have habits that support your well-being. Keep them going and look for opportunities to build on them.

If you answered “Sometimes,” don't be discouraged. These may simply be areas where a little more consistency could help. Pick one habit and work on it first.

And if you answered “Not yet” to several statements, that's okay too. Wellness is a journey, not a test that you either pass or fail. Start with one small, realistic change. Add vegetables to one meal. Choose water more often. Check the nutrition information on a product. Take a short walk. Get to bed a little earlier.

Start Small, Stay Consistent

Rather than trying to change everything at once, focus on one realistic action you can do today. Whether it's drinking more water, adding vegetables to a meal, taking a short walk, or getting enough rest, small improvements can add over time.

Your goal for today: Don’t try to change everything at once.

Instead, ask yourself: “What is one small thing I can do today to nourish myself better?” Because wellness isn't built in a day. It is built through the small choices we make every day.

For many Filipinos, the airport is more than just a place to catch a flight. It marks the start of long-awaited vacations, emotional homecomings or important business trips. In the middle of the rush, food can offer a welcome pause, providing travelers with a sense of familiarity before they head to their next destination. At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), passengers can find familiar Filipino flavors through food concepts that bring together well-loved meals and favorite street food snacks.

With so much nutrition information available today, choosing what to eat can sometimes feel overwhelming. Food labels, health claims, social media posts, and nutrition advice can all influence the way we see and choose our food. The good news? Making better food choices does not require following complicated rules. It starts with understanding the information available and putting it into context. Being food-informed means looking beyond simple claims, asking thoughtful questions, and considering how each food fits into your overall eating pattern.

Food is fuel—but not all diets are the same. A person going about daily life has very different nutrition needs than an athlete training hard every day. Understanding these differences can help you eat smarter, stay healthy, and perform your best.
